Yeongdeungpo-gu's Times Square mall and Yeouido financial district generate a diverse food scene of department store restaurants, business lunch spots, and the Han River cycling culture that has made outdoor food and coffee culture a fixture of the waterfront.
This was the main reason for our trip. We took a taxi from Myeongdong. It took about 40 minutes, and cost 1500 yen. It was smaller than I expected, but it had a second floor. There were about eight tables on the first floor. The basics were jajangmyeon, fried rice, and tangsuyuk. Everything was delicious and filling. 😋😋😋 I was relieved to hear they offered takeout if we couldn't finish it, but we ate it all. They didn't speak Japanese, but they understood by pointing at the photos. The prices were reasonable. My husband said he'll definitely go again. I'm a fan of my youngest daughter's. I told the staff, but they just said, "Oh, oh," and I thought, "Oh, did I get the wrong restaurant?" But it was really delicious, so I'm satisfied. Next time, I might try the train. Next time, I'll book a hotel in Yeongdeungpo. I'm looking forward to trying something different after reading everyone's reviews. Thanks for the meal.

Shinheungwon is a restaurant I've been frequenting for about 20 years. The owner's daughter is quite famous, haha. Today, I had a simple jjajangmyeon and samseon jjambbong. The jjambbong was delicious today. The jjajangmyeon is always above average. I eat out often, and I personally prefer the tangsuyuk. The nanjawans are delicious. They're also good at cooking abalone and pufferfish.
