Overview
Noryangjin Cup Rice Street is a street where cup rice stalls, known as a specialty of Noryangjin, gather together. Cup rice is one of the street foods developed at street stalls lined up in the academy district of Noryangjin, Dongjak-gu, made with consideration for students and exam takers with limited budgets. Initially, it was called 'pocha rice' because it was sold at food stalls, but since around 2011, the term 'cup rice' has been used in earnest. Kimchi fried rice is served in a disposable bowl topped with egg, sausage, ham, tuna, and other toppings, and you can choose your preferred toppings for an average price between 4,000 and 5,000 won. In 2018, Dongjak District Office installed information boards for tourists and citizens visiting Cup Rice Street and later created rest areas between shops to make it easy to enjoy cup rice. Besides cup rice, there are food stalls selling snacks, pho, hot dogs, waffles, and more, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of street food and wander around.
