Overview
The National Memorial Hall of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea was established with the purpose of re-examining the spirit of independence and democratic republican rule of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea as a proud history and passing it down to future generations. The site covers 3,656㎡ (1,106 pyeong), with a total building area of 97,036㎡ (2,935 pyeong) and a total exhibition area of 2,240㎡ (678 pyeong). The building consists of three basement floors and four above-ground floors, featuring three permanent exhibition halls, one special exhibition hall, a lake vium, symbolic plaza, storage, a multipurpose hall, and a rooftop garden. The permanent exhibition focuses on activities ranging from the March 1st Movement, which led to the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, to the establishment of the government that succeeded the Provisional Government's legal lineage. Additionally, in the outdoor plaza on the first floor of the memorial hall, a symbolic wall piece themed 'Waves of History' is installed, expressing the Provisional Government's aspirations for independence and the dynamism of Korea's past, present, and future.
