Overview
Standing tall in the heart of the city, Namsan is a landmark of Seoul and a beloved retreat for citizens throughout the year. The Namsan Dulle-gil is a great walking path that allows you to circle Namsan Mountain starting from Seoul Tower. The total length is 7.3 km, which takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. The route includes the Northern Circular Road, a historic and cultural trail with stories, a natural ecological trail and wildflower garden trail where you can glimpse Namsan's natural environment, and a forest trail. Among them, the North Ring Road was selected as an accessible walking path because wheelchair users, stroller users, and visually impaired pedestrians can walk without much assistance from companions or guardians. The Namsan Dulle-gil North Circular Road is a 3.4 km walking trail that starts at the entrance of the Namsan Cable Car and continues to the National Theater, where cars and bicycles are prohibited, allowing safe walking. Braille blocks are installed in the middle of every path, and along the middle path with these paving blocks, non-disabled people walk on the right side, symbolizing order and is also called the 'Consideration Path.' Tourist highlights along the Namsan Dullegil include the 'Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall,' which displays his calligraphy and related photos, medals and letters for National Foundation Merit, newspaper reports from the time of the trial, and calligraphy by famous figures; 'Photo Island' at Jamdubong, named for its resemblance to a silkworm's head; 'Love Lock' visible from Namsan Seoul Tower Plaza; and 'Namsan Seoul Tower,' a radio broadcast and tourism tower overlooking downtown Seoul near Namsan Jeongsan.
