Overview
The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul branch) is an art museum focused on contemporary art. Following the Gwacheon Hall opened in 1986, the Deoksugung Hall in 1998, and the Seoul Hall opened in 2013, the Seoul Hall is located on the site of the Joseon-era Sogyeokseo, Jongchinbu, Gyujanggak, and Saganwon. Built with the concept of [Yard], the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul branch) is designed as a space where anyone can enjoy and relax. The interior and exterior of the building are organically connected and designed to harmonize with surrounding landmarks. The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul branch) is a complex arts and culture center equipped with various facilities including exhibition halls, a digital information room, a multimedia hall, and a cinema, hosting exhibitions of Korean contemporary art and new media convergence.
