Overview
The main building was designed by Park Dong-jin, who began construction in 1933 and was completed in 1934 by Kim Seong-soo, who managed Bosung College, the predecessor of Korea University. It has three stories (the central tower has six stories) and is built in a symmetrical Gothic style mainly made of granite. It has an H-shaped floor plan with a wide hall in the center. Two stone pillars at the building's entrance are carved with tiger statues symbolizing the school's spirit, while the central rear gate pillars are carved with hibiscus flowers. At the time of construction, both the interior and exterior were luxurious and grand, making it an exceptional example for a school building in Korea. (Source: National Heritage Administration)
