Overview
Jangsu Park, one of the landmarks of the Sinwol-dong area, starts from the 'Street Where Water Flows' at Sinjeong Intersection and extends to the covered road in Sinwol-dong. Throughout the park, there are health acupressure stations and badminton courts, making it a perfect place for both walking and exercise. Haenuri Fountain Plaza, located on a street where water flows, is a waterfront park that serves as a fun playground for children in the city, offering a refreshing experience. In the central plaza of Jangsu Park, there is also a monument to the honored veterans who fought in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. If you walk along the path you want to walk in Jangsu Park, you'll come across the Gate of Virtuous Women. The main figure of this virtuous woman, Lady Lee, was born as a precious daughter of the prestigious Lee family but lost her husband early. Grieving her husband's death, she refused to eat and fasted, dying in her late twenties. Upon receiving this report, the court in 1729 (the 5th year of King Yeongjo) bestowed upon the Yeolnyeo Mun plaque inscribed 'The Gate of Lady Jeon, wife of the virtuous student Won Jeong-ik of Jeon Lee,' to honor the noble ideals of the Virtuous Woman Lee.
