Overview
The Horim Museum was established to inherit and develop national culture, based on the cultural heritage and funds contributed by Horim Yoon Jang-seop (湖林 尹章燮, 1922~2016). In July 1981, Yoon established the Seongbo Cultural Foundation as a foundation, and subsequently opened the Horim Museum in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in October 1982. In June 2009, to bring more cultural and artistic lovers closer to citizens, the Shinsa Branch opened within the Horim Art Center in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, which is emerging as a cultural hub. The Horim Museum holds over 20,000 cultural heritage items, including ceramics, metals, wood, calligraphy, paintings, and classical texts.
