Overview
Located near the main gate of Seoul National University, the Gwanak Cultural Center was established to contribute to the development of the local community, satisfy the cultural needs of residents, and enhance their emotional development and quality of life. At Gwanak Cultural Center, you can take advantage of various cultural school classes. A variety of cultural school courses are offered, including Korean calligraphy classes, the Four Gentlemen, Oriental and Western paintings, literature, traditional dance, health dance, yoga, pansori and Namdo folk songs, boys and girls choirs, and traditional music (sijo songs). The cultural school courses are operated every three months. Additionally, the Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival, held since 2016, is a resident-led event held around Gwanaksan and Nakseongdae Park, featuring street parades and citizen writing contests around Gwanaksan and Nakseongdae Park, allowing both Gwanak-gu and Seoul citizens to enjoy together. The Gwanak Cultural Center is located about 280 meters from Exit 1 of Gwanaksan Station on the Sillim Line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway.
