Overview
It is the best coastal scenic spot on Baengnyeong Island. Dumujin (頭武津) was named because the cluster of sharp rocks resembles generals holding meetings with their heads pressed together. Quartz, formed from sand accumulated a billion years ago, has been bent by waves and wind over hundreds of millions of years, forming bizarre rock formations that stand facing the sea. It is truly comparable to the worldview of Mount Geumgang and is called the 'Haegeumgang of the West Sea.' You can see strangely shaped rocks such as Elephant Rock, General Rock, Sinseondae, Seondaeam, and Brothers' Rock. Ways to explore Dumujin include cruise tours and trekking. Taking a cruise at Dumujin Port, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the bizarre rock formations as you cut through the sea breeze, and you can also see spotted seals resting on the rocks. Trekking is a way to slowly take in the scenery of Dumujin. Descending the stairs leading to the coast, you can observe the bizarre rock formations up close. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Seondaemam along the coastal gravel path to the left of Dumujin Port.
