Overview
Jeonggami Village is a village in Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si, with 513 households living across four villages: Mojeon 1-ri, Sangsi-dong 2-ri, and Eonbyeol 1 and 2-ri, and is famous for its delicious persimmons. Jeonggami Village offers a variety of rural experience programs, which are broadly divided into rural experiences, craft experiences, and food experiences. Rural experiences include sowing fields and planting vegetables in spring, corn and potato harvests in summer, and peanut harvesting, sweet potato harvesting, persimmon picking, persimmon leaf making, and dried persimmon making in autumn. Craft experiences include picking fresh persimmon seeds before ripening, grinding them, sifting them through a cotton cloth, and repeating the process of washing and hanging them at least three times; making candlestick LED lights, making pine wood storage boxes, pine pencil holders, and making your own mug. Food experiences include making dried persimmon seolgi, dried persimmon songpyeon, dried persimmon making, dried persimmon glutinous rice gochujang, and dried persimmon tart.
