Overview
Located at the northern tip of Gangneung City, Buyeon-dong Village preserves the old appearance and traditions of rural life. Buyeon-dong Village originates from a kiln in the middle of the Buyeoncheon Stream in Buyeon-dong, which resembles a kiln, and it is also called Gamasso Village. Around Buyeon-dong Village are Gamasso, Buyeon Mineral Spring, Buyeon-dong Village Management Resort Campground, and Buyeon-dong Valley. In 2005, the Korea Forest Service selected for the 'Sancheong Comprehensive Development Project' and has been operating ten cabin-type mountain huts for the cultural center. Buyeon-dong Village boasts pristine clear valleys and beautiful natural scenery, and is also famous as a remote village. There are two access roads to Buyeon-dong Village. One is at the entrance of the Sogeum River, heading toward Jin Pass, then turning right at Hoegol (Galbat Restaurant), and the other is crossing the front and rear to enter Yangyang Eoseongjeon. The village stretches about 4.2 km with a total area of 168,000㎡, and the village includes Buyeon Mineral Water and a native honey production complex. Nearby are Songcheon Mineral Water, Sogeumgang, Jumunjin, Sodol, and Yeongok Beach.
