Overview
The Gangneung-Wonju National University Museum is located within the Academic Information Support Center (Library, C5) of Gangneung-Wonju National University. It began with the establishment of the Local History Hall in 1968, was elevated to Gangneung University in 1979, and opened on March 1 of the same year. Since 1989, it has collected and preserved artifacts from sites directly excavated and surveyed from Yeongseo in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province, and the fourth-floor exhibition hall is organized to explore the history and culture of the Yeongdong region. Additionally, special exhibition rooms with various themes are operated every year, including a teacher resource room where visitors can experience the footsteps of Gangneung-Wonju National University.
