Overview
The Incheon Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Korea and the fifth longest in the world, with a total length of 21.38 km and six lanes in both directions. The main tower of Incheon Bridge, rising from the sea, stands at 238.5 meters, comparable to the height of the 63 Building. The piers supporting the bridge are sturdy enough to withstand a shock of 100,000 tons, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake, and winds of 72 meters per second. The British construction magazine Construction News named the construction of Incheon Bridge as one of the 'Top 10 Most Astonishing Construction Projects in the World.' Civil engineering experts at home and abroad unhesitatingly name Incheon Bridge as one of the world's three most beautiful bridges. The night view is especially captivating, and nearby is the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall, which exhibits in detail the construction process from the start to completion of the Incheon Bridge project, as well as the technical expertise in domestic bridge construction.
