Overview
Nanjeong-ri Observatory is a small octagonal pavilion from the west side of Ganghwa Gyodong Island, offering views of North Korea. The observatory consists of two floors, with two telescopes installed on the second floor. From the observatory to North Korea, the straight-line distance is about 5.5 km, and using a telescope, you can view the Haenam-ri area of Hwanghae Province. Telescopes are free of charge. Nanjeong-ri Reservoir, located in front of the observatory, spreads out quite large, creating a charming atmosphere along with the surrounding scenery. Nearby, the Sunflower Village Garden is located, making it a great place for group sightseeing.
