Overview
The Amorepacific Museum of Art is a museum that once exhibited artworks collected by the late Chairman Seo Seong-hwan, the founder of Amorepacific. In 2009, it was renamed the Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) and continues to operate exhibitions. It was established to aim for 'an open space where beauty is discovered in everyday life' and to communicate with the public. With this purpose, it collects, researches, and exhibits Korean antique art and contemporary art from both domestic and international sources, while supporting related researchers, academic societies, and young artists. In the basement first floor exhibition hall, a variety of curated exhibitions covering antique, contemporary, and Korean art will be held. The large space 'Atrium,' stretching from the 1st~3rd floors, on the first floor features the museum lobby, museum shop, the exhibition space 'APMA Cabinet,' and facilities for the World Exhibition Catalog Library (apLAP). The museum is located on the first floor of the new Amorepacific headquarters building, designed with the motif of white porcelain—a landmark architectural landmark in Yongsan.
