Hello everyone! Today, I want to share my review of Wooz Bakery (Ikseon Branch), a hidden gem I stumbled upon while strolling through the narrow, historic alleys of Ikseon-dong. It’s a place where the cozy ambiance of a traditional Korean house (Hanok) meets the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread.
I was so caught up in the cozy vibe and chatting with my friend that I didn't snap a ton of photos, but the experience was so fantastic that I just had to share this curated guide with you!
📍 Quick Guide & Location
Address: 21-3, Supyo-ro 28-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul (서울 종로구 수표로28길 21-3)
Direction Tip: It is just a short walk from Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station (Subway Line 1, 3, or 5), Exit 4.
Operating Hours: Daily 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Last order at 9:30 PM)
The Vibe: A beautifully renovated, spacious Hanok (traditional Korean building) bakery cafe tucked inside the vibrant Ikseon-dong alleyways.

The Ambiance: Traditional Meets Modern Comfort
When people think of the Ikseon-dong cafe street, the first thing that comes to mind is the historic Hanok architecture. Wooz Bakery beautifully preserves this traditional structure while offering a modern, sleek interior.
As soon as you step inside, the warm wood-toned lighting and the exposed wooden roof rafters (seokrae) instantly make you feel cozy and relaxed. It perfectly bridges the gap between a trendy, large-scale bakery and the peaceful, nostalgic charm unique to Ikseon-dong.
Why it stands out: Unlike many tiny, cramped cafes nearby, Wooz Bakery is quite spacious and spans across two floors. There is plenty of seating, so you don’t have to worry about rushing out. Plus, the restrooms are large, clean, and well-maintained—a massive bonus for travelers in this area! It's the perfect spot for long chats with friends or a romantic date night.

The Bakery & Coffee: A Heaven for Pastry Lovers
The coffee is very reasonably priced—starting around 4,500 KRW—making it easy on the wallet.
As a dedicated bakery cafe, the center of the shop features a massive, mouth-watering display of pastries baked fresh in-house every single day. The rich, buttery scent filling the air makes it almost impossible to choose!
The Selection: They have everything from classic, simple breads like croissants and Salt Bread (Sogeum-ppang) to trendy pastries packed with fresh cream and fruit tarts.
Note: If you visit on a weekend afternoon, the shelves might look a bit empty because the popular items sell out fast!

Taste Test: What to Order
The Americano: It has a low acidity with a deep, rich, and nutty body. It provides the perfect balance to cut through the sweetness of the desserts.
Signature Drinks: They offer beautifully styled signature beverages that are incredibly photogenic and perfect for your social media feed.
The Famous Salt Bread (소금빵): A must-try! It is perfectly crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and features a beautiful "butter tunnel" in the center. It’s the ultimate definition of savory, salty, and buttery goodness.
Fruit & Cream Cheese Tarts: These are wonderfully balanced. They aren't overly sweet, meaning you can enjoy every last bite without feeling overwhelmed by sugar.
Final Verdict: Why You Should Visit
Ikseon-dong is packed with beautiful cafes, but many of them can feel claustrophobic or have inconvenient restroom facilities.
Wooz Bakery checks all three essential boxes:
Authentic Hanok atmosphere ✨
Incredible, fresh-baked flavors 🥐
Spacious seating and comfortable amenities 🛋️
If you are looking for a foolproof cafe experience in Seoul, I highly recommend adding this spot to your itinerary!
