Overview
In Singil-dong, Yeongdeungpo, there is a street where restaurants specializing in skate dishes gather together. The first skate restaurant appeared in Singil 4-dong near Wooshin Elementary School intersection in the early 1990s, and as skate restaurants began to appear one by one, enthusiasts in the area gradually started coming in. Dishes that any skate lover can't miss—such as skate sashimi, seasoned skate salad, steamed skate, and soup—have become regular regulars. At that time, there were places nearby selling menus completely different from hongeo, such as Chinese restaurants and regular restaurants, and as hongeo became popular, they gradually began to switch businesses. Thus, today's Singil-dong skate street was created.
