Overview
The Seoul Arts Center is Korea's premier complex cultural and arts space, equipped with world-class facilities. Five buildings are clustered at the foot of Umyeonsan Mountain: the Opera House, which has a theater hosting performances in genres such as opera, theater, dance, and musicals; the Music Hall with a dedicated classical music hall; the Hangaram Art Museum with six exhibition halls; the Seoul Calligraphy Museum, the world's only dedicated calligraphy exhibition hall; and the Hangaram Design Museum, which houses the arts resource center with the most access to cultural and arts-related materials. Right next to the Seoul Arts Center are separate institutions such as the National Gugak Center and the Korea National University of Arts. Within each space of the Seoul Arts Center, the National Ballet, the National Opera, the National Choir, the Seoul Arts Troupe, the Korean Film Archive, the Arts Council, and the Seoul Symphony are housed.
