Overview

To honor the achievements and noble spirit of national defense of the military merit recipients who defended the country during the Korean War and fought bravely for world peace during the Vietnam War, the district was built in 2010, the 60th anniversary of the Korean War, with the dedication and will of Seongdong-gu and the Seongdong District branch of the War Recipients Association. The monument consists of the first tower (with the commemorative monument), the second tower (list of 279 military merit recipients), and the third tower (with a statement of purpose, supporting institutions, etc.) atop the circular pedestal. Its dimensions are 6.8m wide, 6.8m long, and 5m high.
