Overview
Kyung Hee University Natural History Museum opened in 1978 to realize Kyung Hee University's founding spirit of creating a cultural world, based on the results of long-term research on nature. The approximately 90,000 specimens preserved at the Natural History Museum have been collected since the 1940s, and it also holds endangered species that have already become extinct in Korea or have recently disappeared. Specialized faculty members from various fields collect rocks, fossils, and specimens of plants and animals for research purposes on six floors to help readers easily understand the current state of biological evolution and ecological changes over time. Based on these specimens, visitors are guided to understand and practice the importance of nature conservation and life. Kyung Hee University's Natural History Museum aims to educate everyone, from children to adults, by systematically learning about the classification and ecology of plants and animals, thereby fostering enthusiasm for nature exploration and awareness of nature conservation.
