Overview
Founded in 1974 as part of the Korea Film Archive, the Korean Film Archive is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, located in the Sangam DMC complex. It collects, preserves, and services all materials related to film, and operates various public facilities to make it easy and enjoyable for anyone to enjoy video culture. At Cinematheque KOFA, domestic and international classics, art, and independent films are screened, and at the Korean Film Museum, visitors can directly experience the history of Korean cinema. The video library offers access to the largest collection of film materials in Korea, and it also runs research and publication projects, mobile cinemas, and operates various online services such as Korean classic film VOD.
