Overview
Since its opening as Godeok Library in 1984, the Godeok Lifelong Learning Center has contributed to improving the quality of life by promoting reading habits and providing various lifelong education services for local residents. The name was changed to Godeok Lifelong Learning Center in 1999. Godeok Lifelong Learning Center offers lifelong learning classes for adults and children in the region. It offers courses in various fields to strengthen IT capabilities, including foreign language courses such as English, Japanese, and Chinese; cultural and arts courses such as art, ceramics, and musical instruments; humanities and general education courses such as real estate auctions, Chinese characters, and creative writing; and smartphone usage, video editing, and digital drawing. In addition, various cultural events such as the Lifelong Learning Festival held every autumn and ongoing exhibitions are held. Facilities include a library and information room, children's room, digital resource room, lecture room, self-study room, learning device room, and smart library, and a unique space called Transcription Sympathy is provided. The Learning Center holds about 180,000 volumes, with the Library and Information Room offering general books and magazines on all topics, and the Children's Resources Room stocking books and magazines for infants and children. The multi-purpose digital resource room within the Library and Information Room is equipped with non-book materials such as DVDs and audiobooks, 21 computers and 12 laptops available for constant use. Additionally, it offers a variety of reading-related services such as vacation reading classes, targeted reading clubs, and mutual loan services.
