Overview
Geumam Cultural Park is a park located in Gupabal, Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, and is steeped in Eunpyeong's historical culture, with stories of grandfathers and grandsons who illuminated the late Joseon period. This was the site of the Geumam Cham, where dispatchers would change horses to deliver military intelligence during the Joseon Dynasty, and it was a stopover for the king during his royal procession. There is the Geumam Monument, which was written on the inscription of King Jeongjo, the 22nd king of Joseon, who stopped by Geumam Balcham while resting on his way to pay respects at his grandfather King Sukjong's Myeongneung Tomb. He recalled the enduring virtue of his grandfather King Yeongjo's engravings. There is also a Hamabi (Hippo Monument) that inscribed with an inscription from the Joseon Dynasty stating that anyone passing through this place must dismount from their horse. Geumam Culture Park features a children's playground that uses advanced IT technologies such as LED lighting, multimedia, and sensors to engage through play and game education. There's also a sand playground, and next to it, there's a faucet where you can wash your hands after playing. Across from the children's playground, there are exercise equipment for adults, so kids and adults can enjoy exercising together in the same space. There are exercise equipment that lights up when you exercise, so exercising at night adds extra fun.
