Overview
The alley leading to Exit 4 of Euljiro 3-ga Station is bustling every night with people drinking beer at small tables. Plastic tables are laid out under dazzling lights, and hundreds of guests are present. Euljiro Nogari Alley began in November 1980 with Eulji OB Bear, the first Nogari pub. Euljiro is the largest printing alley in the country, where all books and handouts distributed in Korea were distributed there. So, many printing workers worked overnight to meet deadlines, and after their shifts, they would go home and drink cold draft beer with the steamed rogari to satisfy their hunger. Beer shops started popping up one by one, and before long, it became the Nogari Draft Beer Alley. When the alley was first built, nogari was grilled over charcoal and served with gochujang, but nowadays, many shops in Euljiro Nogari Alley serve not only nogari but also various snacks like chicken, stews, and fried foods like pubs. The main dishes are, of course, nogari and draft beer.
