Overview
Since the first electric lights were lit at Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1887, Korea Electric Power Corporation has overcome the pain of Japanese rule, the division of North and South Korea, and the Korean War, together with its people, becoming a central key industry in our society today. Despite the turbulent whirlwinds of history in the 20th century, KEPCO has steadily grown and become a driving force for national economic development, continuously striving to fulfill its boundless responsibility to the national economy and its customers, and to foster a culture of electricity. KEPCO established the Electrical Museum to systematically organize and preserve the history of electricity from the last century, and to inform people about the value of electricity and the development of modern science. The Electrical Engineering Museum reflects the wish of Electric Power Industry to pass on the precious cultural heritage imbued with their spirit to future generations.
