Overview
The Ganghwa Shipboard Park is a space that has protected our seas for 34 years since its commissioning in 1985 and was restored to preserve the original form of the 'Masan' ship, which was decommissioned in 2019. Here, you can indirectly experience naval life and various combat equipment aboard warships, which are usually hard to access. The Masan is a Korean-class frigate, launched on October 26, 1984, and commissioned on July 20, 1985. A total of nine Ulsan-class ships were built and used as the main combat ships of the Republic of Korea Navy. It was the first domestically built frigate to cross the Pacific Ocean and participated in the RIMPAC exercise. It was selected as the Navy's best gunnery and received the Presidential Vice Command Chumt, serving as a distinguished service before being retired in 2019.
