Overview
It is a traditional rural themed village located in Songhae-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon Metropolitan City. Designated in 2005, it offers a variety of farming and harvesting experiences throughout the seasons, centered on making traditional Hwamunja stones using Ganghwa Wancho. Hwamunseok Village has long been famous for its Hwamunseok. Hwamunseok is a flower mat woven from royal bone with floral patterns. Starting in the Goryeo Dynasty, it developed into a home-based handicraft industry, and over a hundred years ago, the Joseon royal family ordered the design to be made, and Mr. Han Chung-gyo of this village succeeded in making patterned patterned stone pieces. There is a Hwamunseok Museum within the village. Additionally, this village is the only one where the 7th Nongak, a traditional farming music from Hwanghae Province, has been preserved.
