Overview
The legendary setting where Simcheong is said to have been omitted from the ancient novel Simcheong is called Indangsu or Imdangsu, located between the sea off Jangsan Cape and Baengnyeongdo. The place where the deeply filial Simcheong revived and, riding the lotus flower, was swept by the currents and reached Yeonbong Rock, a small rocky island on the southern coast of Baengnyeongdo. On October 21, 1999, a two-story Simcheonggak was erected at the summit of Buksan in Jinchon-ri, Baengnyeongdo, where both Indangsu and Yeonbong Rock overlook him, to commemorate Simcheong's filial piety. On the first floor, the <심청전> content is introduced through writing, videos, and models, and various genres such as novels, fairy tales, and traditional Korean music are showcased, offering a variety of attractions. There is also a Simcheong-themed photo zone that serves as a photo spot. The second floor displays the history and tourist attractions of Ongjin County, as well as the breathtaking scenery of Baengnyeongdo. Outdoors, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the open sea and view statues of Simcheong, tanks, cannons, and more.</심청전>
