Overview
It is an arch-shaped four-lane bridge connecting Choji-ri in Gilsang-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon Metropolitan City, and Yagam-ri, Daegot-myeon, Gimpo-si. Construction began in 1996 by Incheon Metropolitan City and was completed in August 2002. It is 1.2 km long with four lanes in both directions and serves as a connecting bridge connecting the island and the inland area. Due to its characteristics, a 900mm water pipe and a 300mm city gas pipeline were installed on the bridge section. With the opening of this bridge, the arrival time to Ganghwa Island in western metropolitan areas such as Gangseo-gu in Seoul, Bucheon and Gimpo in Gyeonggi Province has been reduced by 30 minutes compared to using the existing Ganghwa Bridge. Crossing this bridge and turning right, you will find many tourist attractions along the coastal road, such as Deokjinjin, Manisan National Tourist Site, and Hwado-myeon Migratory Bird Habitat.
