Overview
The Diplomatic Archives is a special archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that establishes policies for managing diplomatic records and preserves and manages records related to the field. It operates a Diplomatic Document Reading Room, Diplomatic History Exhibition Room, Diplomatic Experience Room, and Special Exhibition Room to allow public access to diplomatic records and promote public diplomatic activities. The Diplomatic History Exhibition Hall displays major diplomatic treaties, documents, photos, and souvenirs from the port opening in 1876 to the present, arranged by era, while the Diplomatic Experience Room offers various hands-on corners such as models of international conference speech halls, diplomatic quizzes, and photo shoots of foreign ministers to help children and youth become more familiar with diplomatic activities. Additionally, special exhibitions on diplomacy are regularly held in the special exhibition hall. On weekdays, there are two field trip programs for nonprofit class groups, each in the morning and afternoon, and on Saturdays, a diplomatic school for children and youth is also available.
