Overview
The Anti-Communist, Martyrs' Memorial Tower, is about 15 meters tall and was erected to honor the patriotic heroes who lost their lives fighting for the country. During the bloody battles following the liberation of the homeland on August 15, 1945, and the national crisis caused by North Korea's invasion on June 25, 1950, many comrades from patriotic right-wing organizations such as the Daedong Youth Corps, Korean Youth Corps, Federation of Korean Trade Unions, Anti-Korean Federation of Trade Unions, and Minbodan Northwest Youth Association, as well as police, firefighters, and students, built the station to honor those who died with the belief of saving the country. The memorial tower is located along Nodeul-gil Road along the Saetgang River in Yeouido next to Singil Station, and every June, a memorial service is held to honor the sacrifices of the patriots. This tower was erected by the Yeongdeungpo-gu Veterans Association and the Anti-Communist-Martyrs' Memorial Tower Construction Committee, and various patriotic organizations and citizens pay special respect to its dedicated actions and sacrifices.
