Sunday Lunch at Saboten, Gangnam Seoul

It has been a while since I came to Gangnam, and on a Sunday for lunch no less. Gangnam is always bustling, but step away from the main street on a Sunday and there is a surprising calm that does not feel very Gangnam-like.

Saboten Our Home Building branch is at 115 Yeoksam-ro, Gangnam-gu, 1st floor. It is about 447 meters from Gangnam Station Exit 4. Hours are daily 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

This is apparently the flagship location, and it is housed in a massive building. I used to eat at Saboten all the time, especially their tonkatsu, but they have become harder to find lately. Seeing this large flagship store was a welcome sight. There is even a short history of Saboten written in English on display.

We arrived slightly past Sunday lunchtime and there were already plenty of customers with more coming in. But the place is so spacious that there was no wait. They have group tables, 4-person tables, and everything in between, all with tablet ordering for easy payment.

I went for my favorite - the Double Up Mozzarella Katsu set. My friend ordered the Karai Udon set. They also had new menu items displayed separately, which only made the decision harder.
