Donkatsu & Chicken Mayo Rice Bowl Lunch at Mansodang, Apgujeong Seoul
#NoSponsorship
Today we had lunch at Mansodang, a cozy little spot near Apgujeong Station.
Mansodang is at 10 Nonhyeon-ro 159-gil, Gangnam-gu, unit 104. It is about 369 meters from Apgujeong Station Exit 4. Hours are daily 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM with a break from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, last order at 7:30 PM.
The menu board outside has cute illustrations of their popular dishes. Inside, there is a small kiosk for ordering. We went with the tonkatsu and the chicken mayo rice bowl.
The chicken mayo bowl has options to remove cheongyang pepper, red pickled radish, or mayo - customize to your taste.
The restaurant looks small from outside but has tables arranged in a surprisingly efficient way. There is even a solo dining zone for people eating alone, and it is actually quite spacious. The tables are generally long and wide, which is comfortable.
Each table has detailed instructions on how to eat the chicken mayo bowl properly. Step one: pop the soft-boiled egg and gently mix it with the rice. Step two: place the chicken pieces on top. They also had instructions for the shrimp tempura bowl, which looked amazing too - but with just two of us, we could not order everything.
