Huoguo Nara Gangnam — Great Value Unlimited Hot Pot Lunch

All-you-can-eat hot pot restaurants have been popping up everywhere lately, especially shabu-shabu places. But when I heard there was an unlimited hot pot (huoguo) spot in Gangnam, we decided to check it out for a Friday lunch.

Huoguo Nara Gangnam branch is at 35 Bongeunsa-ro 2-gil, Gangnam-gu, on the 2nd floor. It is about 209 meters from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6. Hours are daily 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM.

The interior is pretty spacious with a large communal table in the center that would be great for group gatherings. We sat at a 4-person outer table with an induction stove in the middle - though honestly it felt a bit tight for four people.

Ordering was unusual. You have to place your phone on a sticker on the table to access the ordering page. We fumbled with that for a while before figuring it out. Since it was the lunch unlimited refill deal, we just had to pick our soup bases. We went with the spicy hong-tang and mushroom broth - 15,800 won per person.
