Seoul's Royal Palaces

No trip to Seoul is complete without visiting its magnificent royal palaces. Built during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), these palaces offer a breathtaking window into Korea's royal history.

Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁)

The grandest of Seoul's five palaces, built in 1395. Home to Geunjeongjeon (the throne hall) and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion.

• Hours: 9AM–6PM (closed Tuesdays)
• Admission: ₩3,000 | Free in hanbok
• Nearest station: Gyeongbokgung (Line 3, Exit 5)

Changdeokgung & Secret Garden

A UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Secret Garden (Huwon) requires a guided tour — English tours at 10:30AM and 2:30PM.

• Admission: ₩8,000 adults
• Nearest station: Anguk (Line 3, Exit 3)

Best Time to Visit

Spring (April) for cherry blossoms, Fall (October–November) for foliage. Weekdays are significantly less crowded.
